Question: Pro Choice or Pro Life
Answer: Like with any social issue, we believe the platform should divert all issues to the States. Allow the voters to decide on social issues and not letting the Parties becoming encompasses and categorized solely on issues that are constantly evolving.
Some sub-topics discussed within this topic were:
- ROE VS. WADE: 100% of those involved in the discussion agreed that Roe vs. Wade should be overturned and the States should each make a decision individually. Thus, allowing the voters to make the important decisions.
- PLAN B: 57% of the discussion participants were in favor of Plan B. Knowing that conception has yet to take place and thus we are not aborting the baby.
- SITUATIONS OF RAPE/INCEST: 57% were in favor of allowing abortions in cases of rape or incest only.
- LIFE BEGINS AT CONCEPTION: 71% of participants believe life begins at conception.
- TEACHING SEX EDUCATION (VS ABSTINENCE ONLY): 71% of participants believe that sex education should be continued to taught in our schools and abstinence education should also be taught as alternative as well. (1 discussion member was undecided on the issue and another felt only abstinence education should be taught)
- PARENTAL NOTIFICATION OF MINORS GETTING AN ABORTION: 100% of our discussion group agreed that there should be parental notification when a minor is choosing to get an abortion.
- PARENTAL CONSENT OF MINORS GETTING AN ABORTION: 100% of our discussion group agreed that there should be parental consent when a minor is choosing to get an abortion. Consent is needed when a minor desires to get a tattoo the same should be for abortions.
- FATHERS RIGHTS: 71% of the group believes that the father has rights and should have a say in any abortion situation.
- LEGAL REPERCUSSIONS OF DRINKING/SMOKING WHILE PREGNANT: 71% of participants said there should not be any repercussions for drinking/ smoking while pregnant which results in loss of the child.
- MANSLAUGHTER OR MURDER CHARGES FOR DRINKING/SMOKING WHILE PREGNANT: 71% of participants said there should not be manslaughter or murder charges for drinking/ smoking while pregnant which results in loss of the child.
